Kittens

This poem is dedicated to my furry friends. They have inspired me to remember the simple things in life and to smile. I love you both, Blaise and Sienna. Thank you for sharing the better part of four months with me. I will carry the thoughts I have of you wherever I go.
I think of you
When time stands still
Through the window, the soft sunlight
The little shape on the floor
Reflects the warmth of life and the golden glow
You know, kitten, you are loved

In the haze of the morning
As I slept
You tip-towed softly into the room
And sounded a warm greeting
It filled me with warmth and I smiled
You know, kitten, you are still with me

When I’d cry
You’d curl up into a little ball and purr on my lap
Those times were special
Whether it be day, when the sun filled the room
Or night, when the candles burned bright
You know, kitten, you gave me hope

I always had an angel on my shoulder
To hug and love
The world will never know
Just how much you mean to me
And no matter the distance
You know, kitten, you make me smile.

To the dark shape I cradled in my arms
In the last weeks I was there
I thank you for your companionship and love
I will always remember your chirps of kitten delight
And your playful personality
You know, kitten, you are sweet.

No matter what time may bring
The memories of you live on
In my heart
In my thoughts
And in my understanding of what is simple and true
You know, kittens, you are beautiful, simply beautiful.

This is so touching and sweet! If the kittens could comprehend holding onto a piece of poetry, I'm sure they'd carry around your poem with them wherever they went as they thought of the mommy they miss so dearly!

that was really great. It was sweet, and touching. My own kitten, Andromeda, is fully grown now.
I really did like this poem.
